Support American Indian & Indigenous Studies

Your support helps ensure that these programs, opportunities, and connections continue for future generations of students and community members.

What Your Support Makes Possible

For more than 50 years, American Indian & Indigenous Studies at UW–Madison has connected students, scholars, Tribal communities, and the University through teaching, research, cultural programming, and community engagement.

Your support helps us continue and strengthen this work. Gifts to AIIS create meaningful opportunities for students, sustain community-engaged programs that bring Indigenous Elders, storytellers, and knowledge keepers to campus, support the teaching and sharing of Indigenous languages and knowledge, and advance research and scholarship in American Indian & Indigenous Studies.

Every gift helps sustain these opportunities for students and the broader community while supporting the continued growth of AIIS and our relationships with Indigenous communities.

Help create opportunities for students to deepen their understanding of American Indian & Indigenous histories, cultures, languages, and contemporary experiences through coursework, mentorship, and experiential learning.

Support opportunities for students and community members to engage with Indigenous languages, knowledge, and cultural traditions—both inside and beyond the classroom.

Help make programs like the Elder-in-Residence Program and Annual Evening of Storytelling possible, bringing Indigenous Elders, knowledge keepers, and storytellers to campus to share knowledge, language, stories, and perspectives.

Support programming that brings students, faculty, Tribal Nations, and community members together, strengthening relationships and creating spaces for learning, dialogue, and collaboration.
